HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel job in Saint Cloud, Minnesota.
Job Description & Requirements Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Acute Care
Location: Saint Cloud, MN
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 – 16:30), every 4th weekend
Provide occupational therapy services in an acute care hospital setting under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
\tTreat a diverse adult and geriatric patient population across medical, surgical, orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, oncology, and critical care units.
\tAssist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, transfers, and upper-extremity rehabilitation.
\tParticipate in discharge planning and patient/family education focused on safety, injury prevention, and functional independence.
\tDocument treatments, progress, and discharges accurately in the electronic medical record.
\tCollaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support patient-centered outcomes.
\tRequired Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a COTA.
\tPrior acute care hospital experience (required).
\tActive Minnesota state COTA license.
\tBLS certification.
\tAbility to manage a fast-paced acute care caseload (approximately 12 visits per day).
\tPreferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in adult rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation facility settings.
\tExposure to complex diagnoses including stroke, brain injury, amputations, dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, cardiac conditions, and post-surgical recovery.
\tExperience with orthopedic conditions such as total joint replacements and fractures.
\tFamiliarity with prosthetics, orthotics, and functional splinting.
\tKnowledge of standardized assessments, fall-risk assessment, infection prevention, and patient safety practices.
\tExperience using Epic or similar electronic charting systems.
\tEquipment Exposure (Preferred):
Ceiling and floor-based lifts
\tStand-assist devices
\tHoverMatt and HoverJack systems
