Position Summary
This position will develop, implement and ensure compliance with Title II, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504, Section 1557, and

other Equal Opportunity laws at the State and Federal levels and University policies. With independent judgment and

discretion, assists with campus regulatory compliance efforts, including receiving and investigating complaints of

discrimination and harassment to determine violation(s) of university policies; making recommendations for findings and

resolutions; assisting in the implementation of protocols and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and

University policy, develop and providing training and outreach. Handle claims with sensitivity and neutrality and ensure compliance

with university policies and procedures. Manage complex workload and meet various deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Investigate violations of the Nondiscrimination policy statement on both an individual and systemic basis,
  • including conducting the investigation and providing interim measures and remedies.
  • Assist with implementing and reviewing policies and procedures as they relate to Nondiscrimination policy Title
  • IX; maintain and monitor data related to OAE complaints. Write detailed reports and findings of investigations.
  • Investigate complaints of unlawful discrimination and harassment under Title VI, Title VII, IHRA, ADAAA, and
  • Section 1557 including planning investigations, conducting interviews, identifying and collecting relevant documentation,
  • and analyzing evidence; serve in an advisory role to supervisors, managers, and department heads across campus on
  • matters involving discrimination, harassment and accommodations.
  • Provide written responses to external agencies, including but not limited to Verified Responses, Position
  • Statements, Requests for Information; and provide in-depth analysis of cases for University purposes. Consult with
  • other departments as needed. Provide remedies for appropriate resolutions.
  • Train faculty, staff and students on Title II, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504, and Section 1557.
  • Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hire, train, develop and manage
  • staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree

Minimum of two years of experience conducting investigations and collecting and analyzing evidence to reach a conclusion. Research and analysis and analytical writing experience. Working knowledge of Section 504, Section 1557, Title II, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, civil rights, affirmative action, and equal opportunity laws and regulations required. The ability to multi-task, train and advise students and employees at all levels, and use independent judgment. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and ability to work effectively with a range of diverse persons at all levels of the organization. The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree or Juris Doctorate Experience in a Higher Education environment or at a public institution. Previous experience in working on cases with OCR, EEOC and IDHR. Familiarity with University policies and procedures.
