Job Summary
\n\n
\n\t - To provide support, strategies, and appropriate intervention and supervision for the preschool staff, programs, and children and their families in the context of a preschool setting.
\n
\n\n
Responsibilities
\n\n
\n\t - PERFORMS DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES \n\n\t
\n\t\t - Performs services in at least two of the three clinical areas Independent in all three areas: (Screening, Early Intervention, Preschool).
\n\t\t - Consistently selects, utilizes, and accurately interprets appropriate, testing materials and or instrumentation based on presenting needs. Actively participates in research on potential updates, modifications and/or improvements to clinical departmental protocol/instrumentation/ testing /teaching methods.
\n\t
\n\t \n\t - PROVISION OF SERVICE \n\t
\n\t\t - Formulates child specific long and short term goals consistent with IEP format within a transdisciplinary context.
\n\t\t - Implements child specific long and short term goals consistent with IEP format within trandisciplinary context.
\n\t\t - Provides support for program staff to formulate and implement child specific long and short term goals consistent with IEP format within a transdisciplinary context.
\n\t\t - Demonstrates the ability to use IEP Direct and all other IEP programs and goals.
\n\t\t - Utilizes strategies effectively based on IEP goals including; Use of multimodal strategies.Modification of methods and interventionsincluding but not limited to physical environment and daily routine, adult-child and child-child interactions. Selection and use of appropriate therapy materials. Demonstrates proficiency with use of strategies across 4 or more models i.e. center based, autism spectrum classrooms, related service, EI, etc .

\n\t \n\t - COMMUNICATION \n\t
\n\t\t - Demonstrates the ability to use a variety of strategies to communicate appropriate clinical information regarding caseload or other clinical assignment: (Presentations/Demonstrations, Meetings,Handouts).
\n\t\t - Attends, schedules and conducts weekly classroom or treatment team meeting times with staff as assigned.
\n\t\t - Schedules regular meeting times with families at least twice a year according to school program protocol.
\n\t\t - Actively and consistently uses cooperative planning as a strategy for staff to staff communication including but not limited to participation on: (Classroom team, Site team, Core team, Best Practice team, Diagnostic team).
\n\t\t - Consistently exchanges information with parents including observations, scheduled conferences etc. and encourages parents to actively participate.
\n\t\t - Clearly communicates information at interagency and intra-agency meetings including to other staff, departments, and internal and external customers according to program protocol as directed.
\n\t\t - Demonstrates knowledge of chain of command in acrisis and follows appropriate clinical and program response according to preschool protocols.

\n\t \n\t - Documentation - Clinical Documentation: \n\t
\n\t\t - Completes documentation within established time frames including but not limited to diagnostic reports, progress notes, lesson plans, and annual reports according to program requirements and mandates. Completed documentation meets timeliness standards 91% of the time or greater.
\n\t
\n\t \n\t - Completes Special Assignments \n\t
\n\t\t - Completes two special assignments examples include: (Manages a site/facility for children and families, Manages safety, Manages infection control implementations, Manages staff conflict resolution, Manages audit).
\n\t
\n\t \n\t - Leadership \n\t
\n\t\t - Provides formal clinical mentorship and/or supervision for ED., OT, or PT for al least one staff member. Mentorship activities could be specific clinical area of expertise. Performs above support activities with two or more staff members per year
\n\t\t - Participates directly in orientation as assigned.
\n\t
\n\t \n\t - Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements
\n\n
\n\t - EXPERIENCE \n\n\t
\n\t\t - Minimum of 2 years experience.
\n\t
\n\t \n\t
\n\t EDUCATION \n\t \n\t\t - Masters Degree in Special Education;
\n\t\t - Bachelors degree for designated specialty areas including but not limited to Behavior and FamilyTherapies.
\n\t
\n\t
\n\t LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS \n\t \n\t\t - Meets NYSED Department requirements as described by position and as required for program.
