About the Role
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in sustaining and deploying critical applications, automating deployment processes, and improving operational efficiency. You'll collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure applications run smoothly, securely, and efficiently in a cloud-based environment.
What You'll Do
Analyze applications to understand their functionality and recommend best practices for clean, secure code and automated deployments.
Write scripts to automate application deployments and optimize business and technical processes to reduce human error.
Enhance DevOps procedures by automating processes and collaborating with DevOps engineers.
Assist in migrating applications to a newly implemented AWS cloud environment.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or a related field OR equivalent boot camp and work experience.
Basic Java development experience with a solid understanding of XML, relational databases (DBMS), HTML, JavaScript, and the Agile SDLC.
Python scripting experience, ideally for writing automation scripts.
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
Bonus skills: Experience or familiarity with Linux, Unix, application monitoring, and Splunk.

Work Schedule & Location
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, with availability for evenings and weekends as needed.
Location: Hybrid role based in Detroit, MI 48226 (Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting).
