Job Description

An educational institution is seeking a dedicated professional to provide Adaptive Physical Education services for students in a K-12 setting. This role is pivotal in ensuring that each student receives an appropriate and tailored physical education program, promoting their motor development and social skills.

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio Special Education Teachers Certificate for Adaptive Physical Education
• Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in a K-12 environment
• Strong ability to write and monitor IEPs
• Collaborative mindset to work with a variety of educators
• Excellent communication and consultation skills

Location:
Dublin, OH

Responsibilities:

• Identify students in need of Adaptive Physical Education services
• Evaluate motor and physical development abilities as part of an evaluation team
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with special education and physical education teachers to create suitable programs
• Provide instruction tailored to the individual needs of students
• Adapt regular physical education programs for Adaptive P.E. students
• Offer in-service training for school personnel and community members
• Maintain ongoing communication with educators and administrative staff
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings and other required functions
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Special Education
