Job description
We are seeking a reliable Truck Driver and forklift operator to transport building materials safely and in a timely manner to various locations in the metro area. The ideal candidate must have experience in route driving, handling different types of trucks, and loading/unloading freight efficiently Experience with donkey forklifts are required. This is a HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY forklift expertise position.
This position requires the delivery of heavy materials to building sites and residential neighborhoods. It also requires navigating daily road, landscape, and structural hazards.
Drivers are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their trucks and forklifts and conducting pre-trip equipment checks. Safe drivers who demonstrate pride and ownership of their equipment are mandatory.
Duties:
- Safely operate flatbed trucks
- Transport goods over short and long distances following a schedule
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment
- Perform routine checks and light maintenance on vehicles to ensure proper operation
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations while on the road
- Follow safe transportation practices
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL, class B) with a clean driving record
- Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles (although not required)
- Good understanding of basic maintenance tasks for medium-duty trucks
- Ability to handle various types of freight
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet delivery deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Must pass mandatory drug screening, and background check and have a clean driving record
This position offers an opportunity for experienced Truck Drivers to deliver freight locally and be home nightly.
