Description We are looking for a skilled Intake/Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a Contract to permanent basis in South Orange County, California. In this role, you will manage patient data intake and billing processes in a laboratory environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical regulations. Responsibilities: - Accurately log patient samples and accompanying data into laboratory information systems. - Perform precise data entry tasks related to patient billing, adhering to deadlines and accuracy standards. - Maintain confidentiality of patient records, complying with medical privacy regulations. - Collaborate with laboratory and clinical staff to resolve discrepancies in patient data. - Stay updated on billing regulations and practices specific to laboratory services. - Follow established accessioning protocols and procedures. - Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure data entry accuracy. - Address and resolve billing-related issues efficiently. - Provide training and support to team members as necessar Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or a related field is preferred. - At least 2 years of experience in data entry, ideally in a medical or laboratory setting. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with billing software applications. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is preferred. - Experience with systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Epaces, and EHR systems is advantageous.
