CAREER OPPORTUNITY - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Our client, The Barbados Agency for Micro Enterprise Development Ltd. (FundAccess) is seeking to recruit a strategic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Business Development Officer.

The Role

The Business Development Officer reports to the Senior Business Development Officer and will be responsible for:

• Arranging meetings with clients.
• Completing needs assessments with clients to establish the best solutions and recommendations based on their bespoke needs.
• Documenting calls and meetings with clients and submitting reports to management.
• Conducting various business and market analyses to establish current state and potential for development and making appropriate recommendations.
• Assisting clients in the compilation and completion of necessary financial and market information to process a variety of requests for financial assistance. 
• Providing support to clients through facilitation of marketing plans, coaching sessions and making recommendations for other relevant workshops and/or interventions.
• Facilitating and/or coordinating training in areas such as but not limited to record keeping, cash management, costing and pricing, personal and business financial management.
• Facilitating the design, development and application of special projects for the company.
• Participating in accounts receivables management activities by engaging clients in the settlement of accounts in arrears. 
• Representing the organisation at various civic and community functions and events to enhance the organisation’s image and to develop new business.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate should:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Accounting or a related field. 
• Possess at least three to five years’ experience in a similar role.
• Have proven experience writing proposals.
• Possess excellent research and sales skills.
• Have exceptional data analysis capabilities and negotiation skills.
• Have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Experience in client facing services, sales, business development or marketing would be an asset.
