Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with an active NY license and Epic charting experience for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department with a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Patients include multisystem organ dysfunction, trauma, psychiatric emergencies, and medical emergencies
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Floating to other units as needed
• Responsibilities include management of dysrhythmias, arterial and central line care, blood product administration, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Care for complex cases including ortho-trauma, CVA, acute psychosis, overdose, and ventilated patients
• Procedures may include EKG acquisition, IV starts, procedural sedation, chest tube management, and CPAP/BiPAP
• Isolation precautions and triage skills required
• First time travelers are accepted
• Return staff policy requires at least 1 year since last assignment
• Some online modules and training will be completed prior to start
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
