Job Title and Overview

The Tent Rental Delivery Driver is responsible for the loading, setup, breakdown, unloading, and cleaning of tent rentals for various events. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Tent Rentals Manager.

Working Conditions

May be exposed to the general range of weather experienced in the area, except for time in the warehouse loading or unloading and drive time. Some work areas may not be heated or air conditioned. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Propane is an obvious hazard; hence a sense of smell is required. Stooping, crouching, bending, lifting, lowering, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, carting, and carrying are intermittent tasks that routinely occur.

Tasks & Activities

Tent Setup and Breakdown:

  • Coordinate and execute the setup and breakdown of tents and associated equipment according to client specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all components are in good working order and properly installed, including tent tops, sidewalls, lighting, flooring, and other accessories.
  • Conduct pre-event inspections and post-event debriefs to address any issues or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of tent inventory, including sizes, types, and quantities.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on tent equipment to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Assist in the organization and storage of tent components and related supplies.
  • Work closely with clients and event coordinators to understand their needs.
  • Address any client concerns or requests related to tent rentals in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure all setups are completed on schedule and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safe installation and use of tent equipment.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and regulations related to tent installation and event safety.
  • Work effectively with other team members to coordinate efforts and ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to new or less experienced staff members as needed.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing rental agreements, contracts, and invoices related to tent rentals.
  • Maintain accurate records of setup and breakdown times, client interactions, and any issues encountered.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and new products.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and company culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Tent Rentals Manager or Operations Director.

Education, Skills & Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.

3. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading rental equipment.

4. Stamina to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

5. Capability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

7. Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, able to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, depending on event schedules.

9. Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company.

10. Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.

11. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
