Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our client’s team at Ft. Knox, KY in support of their DoD customer.  This is a direct hire position with our client with an anticipated salary range of $54-59k. US Citizenship and a current DoD Secret Clearance are required. This role is fully onsite at Ft Knox, KY.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Prepare and maintain automated systems and operations documentation, including SOPs, continuity books, OPORDs, policies, user manuals, strategic communications, and memorandums.
  • Liaise with internal organizational leadership and external personnel to facilitate the creation, review, and editing of organizational documentation.
  • Conduct policy and document reviews, providing actionable comments for the client.
  • Schedule, invite, and track attendees for internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, and records meeting minutes.
  • Attend functional meetings as a client representative, providing summaries of information and following up on meeting minutes.
  • Create, review, and edit organizational strategic communications (STRATCOM) for external announcements.
  • Review file structures and naming conventions for internal data migration, ensuring proper document storage and database content administration.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have and maintain a current DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience OR associate’s degree with 7 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of military writing and other technical correspondence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiar with 2-star level Army staffing procedures.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge and experience of the Army's organizational structure, mission objectives, functions, procedures, agency regulations, and policies.
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to Fort Knox, KY to work full-time onsite.
  • Must be willing to travel if/when needed to other customer locations within the United States and to U.S. territories (approximately <10%).
