Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Technical Writer for a 06+ Months Contract to Hire position with our Direct Client located in Northborough, MA (Onsite) .

Pay Range: $40 - $42/hr on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Description:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, writing, and preparing governance framework documents including Playbooks, minimum standards, and process documents for Electric Capital projects and programs. This will include (but not limited to) standard operating procedures, workflows, RACI diagrams, process descriptions, job aids, and guidelines that will be organized and displayed with interactive content in SharePoint. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. Experience in creating process documentation or playbooks and setting up and displaying interactive content on SharePoint is preferred.

Responsibilities shall include:

  • Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand existing processes and workflows while building upon established process/playbook documents.
  • Use existing process materials including process flows, new and existing detailed procedure materials where appropriate and analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
  • Write clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation, including process descriptions, and best practice guidelines.
  • Create visual aids, such as flowcharts, diagrams, and checklists, to enhance understanding of processes. Review and edit documentation for clarity, accuracy, and consistency, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Maintain a version control system for the documentation to track changes and updates over time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as English, communications, journalism, or a technical discipline like engineering or computer science.
  • Experience in utility industry or project delivery preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills to create clear and concise documentation.
  • Ability to research and analyze technical information to present it in an understandable format.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools like Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, or MadCap Flare.
  • Collaboration skills to work with subject-matter experts and product teams.
  • Experience setting up and creating interactive content in SharePoint.
