Job Description

*PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION WILL ALLOW CONSULTANT TO WORK REMOTELY. HOWEVER, DUTIES WILL OCCASSIONALLY NECESSITATE CONSULTANT TO WORK ONSITE. THEREFORE, WILL BE CRITICAL FOR THE CONSULTANT TO BE LOCAL TO NYC AND ABLE TO TRAVEL TO OUR OFFICE WITHOUT ISSUE, AS NEEDED (AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE).

MTA IT will be implementing the Software Asset Management (SAM) module in our IT Service Management System (ServiceNow) along with Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Contract Management (CM). This effort supports effective management of software licensing and subscriptions, to ensure costs are minimized as software is available when needed to support MTA business needs.

MTA IT Asset Management seeks a consultant with knowledge and experience in software license and contract management. Consultant must have direct prior experience developing business processes and performing other planning and execution tasks to implement Software Asset Management. Substantial familiarity with leading software vendors and their licensing models for Government clients is also required, including Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP, Micro Focus, SalesForce.com, VMware, and Adobe.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, Software License Management, Software Compliance Management, or Software Audit Defense
  • Proficiency in managing software models, entitlements, discovery models, normalization and reconciliation processes to generate Effective License Positions (ELPs).
  • Advanced understanding of software licensing, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • 2+ years of experience working with ServiceNow SAM Pro or Flexera, SNOW, Aspera and discovery tools including SCCM and Intune
  • Knowledge of on-premises and cloud-based software licensing metrics and End User License Agreements for the major software vendors (eg Microsoft, SalesForce.com, Adobe, IBM, Oracle, SAP, Micro Focus and VMware)
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google, and IBM
  • Knowledge and experience with the application of IT asset management and business methods/techniques such as ITIL
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Ability to manage across organizational boundaries, with the goal of understanding drivers and influencers.
  • Experience managing and working with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • CSAM certification-Certified Software Asset Manager a plus
  • Experience driving measurable improvements in quality, efficiency, and costs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and reporting skills, and ability to contribute useful new ideas effectively.
  • Strong dispute resolution, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently on complex assignments. Take initiative and escalate appropriately.
  • Experience creating project plans and executing them to completion
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
