Quality Control Inspector Responsibilities:
- Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies for correct dimensions, hole sizes, weld quality and paint finish
- Ensure compliance with quality standards (AISC, AWS), job specifications and blueprints
- Document inspections, oversee all Nonconformance reports (NCR’s) and Engineering change requests (ECR’s) and report nonconformities to production and/or engineering
- Make site visits to inspect outsourced fabrication when required
- Support training and improvement of quality procedures
- Scan and file prints and quality control documents in respective job files
- Inspect incoming materials for conformance to purchase orders and specifications
- Assist with material handling and movement of parts as needed

Requirements for Quality Control Inspector:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical training in welding or quality preferred
- 3+ years of experience in steel fabrication quality inspection
- Strong blueprint reading and weld evaluation skills
- Familiarity with AWS/AISC standards and DFT measurement
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Overhead crane and forklift experience a plus
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to work with fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions
- Understanding of tolerances and precision measurements
- Ability to apply basic geometry for layout and inspection tasks
