Job Type Full-time Description Position Overview The Johnson Health Tech North America E-commerce team is an expanding team of fitness professionals building the e-commerce experience for the Bowflex, Horizon Fitness, Schwinn Fitness, and JRNY brands. We're looking for a skilled Shopify developer to join our fast-paced and collaborative environment. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining Shopify Plus themes, translating designs into responsive pages, managing third-party app integrations, and supporting store operations with tools and optimizations. Beyond technical implementation, you'll collaborate closely with design, marketing, and operations teams to ensure a frictionless user experience. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Shopify's ecosystem, along with a strong eye for performance, UX, and detail. Responsibilities Shopify Plus Development o Develop and maintain Shopify Plus themes using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3/SASS. o Build and customize templates and features, including PDPs, PLPs, cart flows, and checkout enhancements. o Integrate third-party apps and APIs; manage custom app development when needed. o Optimize site speed, SEO, and mobile performance using best practices. Front-End Development o Translate Figma or design mockups into fully responsive pages. o Collaborate with design, marketing, and content teams to execute brand-aligned visuals and interactive features. o Ensure cross-browser compatibility and accessibility compliance. Shopify Store Management o Support merchandising and operations teams by building tools and processes to streamline store management. o Monitor and improve store performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, Shopify Reports, and third-party apps. o Manage app installations, updates, and configurations to extend store functionality. o Coordinate with customer service and fulfillment teams to resolve technical or operational issues. Technical Leadership & Collaboration o Provide QA testing and troubleshooting for technical issues across the storefront. o Maintain Git-based workflows and deployment best practices. o Stay informed on Shopify Plus features, roadmap updates, and e-commerce trends. o Offer technical insights and contribute to e-commerce growth strategy. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience: Required o 3+ years of experience with Shopify Plus development. o Proficient in Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS/SASS. o Strong understanding of Shopify architecture, APIs (Storefront, Admin), and theme structure. o Hands-on experience managing Shopify store settings, products, collections, and configurations. o Familiar with version control (Git) and deployment workflows. o Expertise in performance optimization and SEO best practices for e-commerce platforms, with a demonstrated ability to implement strategies that improve site speed, search engine rankings, and conversion rates. o Experience with third-party integrations, apps, and analytics platforms. Preferred o Familiarity with headless commerce and frameworks like Next.js, Hydrogen, or Remix. o Experience with content and product automation tools (e.g. Matrixify). o Understanding of digital marketing principles (email flows, CRO, UTM tracking). o Experience in a DTC (direct-to-consumer) e-commerce business. o Experience with international/multi-currency Shopify setups. o Shopify or e-commerce certifications. o Familiarity with analytics dashboards or BI tools.
