\n\n

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Generator Component\nDesign Department, you will play a key role in the design, development, testing\nand optimization of Large Electric Generators for the Fossil and Nuclear Power\nindustry. You will develop recommendations for new products, processes, or\ndesign changes to an evolving market and customer requirements. In addition,\napply advanced skills to resolve complex problems, not covered by existing\nprocedures or practices.

The ideal candidate displays a high level of critical\nthinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or\nmulti-functional problems. They will be highly organized and possess a strong\nbackground in CAD/CAE fundamentals, GD&T methods, machine design, failure\nmode analysis and product development processes.

\n\n

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Execute engineering\noptimization studies. Interface with manufacturing engineering and supply\nmanagement to assure competitive and cost-efficient designs. Contribute to the\nConceptional, Basic and Detailed design of Large Electric Generators for both\nService and New Apparatus product.
  • Perform complex analytical\nstudies of generator components using ANSYS or similar code. Prepare detailed\nProduct Definition, including CAD Models, technical drawings and Bills of\nMaterials.
  • Contribute to the\npreparation and execution of Design Reviews as required by internal\nrequirements. Release engineering information to support the manufacture and\nservice repair of Generator Rotors, Stators, Exciters, and Collector products.
  • Support manufacturing with\ntechnical advice, troubleshooting, co-operative problem solving, disposition of\nproduct deviations, process reviews, and execution of design improvements.
  • Assist in the\nresolution/remediation of product issues and participate in root cause\nanalyses.
  • Communicate effectively\nwith customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel through clear, concise\nand complete verbal and written instructions, specifications, and reports.

What You Bring

  • BS degree in Mechanical\nEngineering, MSME is a plus! 10+ years’ experience in design (experience in\nanalytics, data science, Finite Element Analysis), analysis, and/or maintenance\nof rotating machinery; in the power generation industry.
  • Previous experience in\ndesign, analysis, and/or maintenance of rotating machinery; in the power\ngeneration industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in\nCAD, GD&T and CAE fundamentals.
  • Previous experience with\nSAP, Teamcenter, and NX Modeling Software knowledge is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with good\nanalytical skills. Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively in a team\nsetting with excellent communication skills.
  • Willing to travel (10%).
