Job Description
Title: Scrum Master
Location: Chicago, IL (OR) Tempe, AZ (3 days/week on-site)
Duration: 10 months with possibility for extension/conversion Project Overview: This is a mission-critical project which will involve the migration of multiple product delivery teams' Agile backlog and story delivery from ServiceNow Azure DevOps while maintaining a sync back ServiceNow. The move AD will need fit in the overall delivery model with the rest of the company and allow for scale incompliance driven efforts begin leverage pipeline delivery and code repositories.
Contractor's Role: The Scrum Master will facilitate the planning, tracking, communication and coordination of activities for an Agile project delivery team. This role requires solid practical experience and techniques in both Agile and project management. As a Scrum Master, the role includes collaborating intensively with their team members across both Business and Technology disciplines providing mentoring and coaching around Agile principles and practices. He/she aids with the resolution of blocking challenges and provides outward communication for the team external stakeholders.
Experience Level: Mid Senior
Qualifications (must haves): ****MUST have experience in Azure dev ops****- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required. Greater than 6 years' experience required
- Intermediate advanced understanding of basic software development methodologies and fundamentals (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, Waterfall, etc.).
- Experience with developing, testing and deploying software utilizing a rapid, iterative delivery method.
- Understanding of all facets of the software development life cycle including: planning, requirements management, development, quality assurance, change management and release management.
- Exposure or awareness of continuous integration and test-driven development practices, test automation and tools.
- Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (JIRA, Rally, VersionOne).
Tasks & Responsibilities: Agile Facilitation: - Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
- Coach team members on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Delivery Management: - Manage sprint execution and backlog grooming in Azure DevOps.
- Track and report team velocity, burndown charts, and delivery metrics.
- Remove impediments and escalate issues ensure sprint goals are met.
Stakeholder Engagement: - Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers ensure clear understanding of requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies stakeholders and leadership.
ServiceNow Focus: - Support delivery of ServiceNow modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM).
- Coordinate with platform teams align on release schedules and technical dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with ServiceNow development standards and governance.
