A fast-growing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support high-visibility construction projects, including large-scale mission-critical facilities and data centers. This individual will reinforce jobsite safety through daily oversight, training, compliance monitoring, incident investigation, and partnership with field leadership.

This role is fully onsite at active construction projects and requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach to risk mitigation, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates with MEP and/or data center construction experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Bilingual (English/Spanish ) candidates are a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor jobsite personnel to ensure adherence to company, client, and regulatory safety standards.
  • Conduct routine onsite safety inspections to identify hazards and verify safe work practices.
  • Deliver safety training on PPE usage, equipment operation, hazard mitigation, and field best practices.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and client representatives to maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Draft and update safety documentation including AHAs, PTPs, safety plans, and other project-required forms.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, investigations, trainings, and safety reports.
  • Provide continuous safety coverage and act as the primary safety contact for assigned project sites.

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification (must be able to provide documentation).
  • 1–4 years of experience in construction safety, preferably within MEP, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or mission-critical/data center environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk mitigation methods, and safety management procedures.
  • Experience conducting trainings and incident investigations.
  • Ability to read and interpret jobsite safety documentation and construction activity requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate with diverse field teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (advanced education a plus).
