Description of Work Unit
The Animal Sciences department at Colorado State University is a key department in the College of Agricultural Sciences. The Department of Animal Sciences is responsible for educating approximately 1000 undergraduate and 60 graduate students at any given time. Research, teaching, and engagement opportunities for this position occur at the Animal Sciences building on the main college campus and at the Agricultural Research Development & Education Center (ARDEC Fort Collins).

Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with grant writing, analytical chemistry, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. Primary responsibilities include laboratory analysis of samples collected from research projects, research data collection, analysis and interpretation. The successful applicant will be assisting with analytical and molecular biology assays, manuscript preparation, grant preparation, and other duties as assigned. Interested applicants should have several open blocks of time (at least 6 hours) during the week. Weekend hours are available once the applicant has become familiar with operations.
Position Minimum Qualifications
Previous experience with grant writing.
Previous experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in upkeep and maintenance of laboratory, equipment, land, and/or feed resources.
Commitment to quality assurance, humane livestock handling, performance testing, and accurate data collection and recording is essential.
Candidate must demonstrate integrity and professionalism in a team environment.
