Description:

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and knowledgeable Contract Pharmacist to join the healthcare team at Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center in Warm Springs, OR. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care. As a Pharmacist, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.

  • Flexible Long-Term contract, with extension possibilities
  • Pharmacy hours, Monday - Thurs 8am-7pm, Friday 8am -5pm
  • No weekends, No Holidays
  • Day shift
  • Be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy program/school.
  • State licensed in pharmacy within the United States. required
  • Previous contract experience a plus
  • Previous IHS facility experience helpful
  • 2+ years experience required
  • Can work on any state license

Duties

  • Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy.
  • Dispense medications accurately and provide clear instructions to patients regarding their use.
  • Conduct patient assessments to monitor medication efficacy and safety.
  • Manage inventory levels of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper storage and handling.
  • Provide consultations on pain management strategies and medication-related issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy software systems.
  • Adhere to aseptic techniques when preparing sterile medications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams in hospital settings, including pediatrics, to deliver optimal patient care.

Skills

  • Strong background in clinical pharmacy practices.
  • Proficient in using pharmacy software for medication management and documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in pain management protocols and patient assessment techniques.
  • Familiarity with inventory management processes to ensure adequate stock levels of medications.
  • Understanding of medical terminology relevant to pharmaceutical care.
  • Experience working within hospital environments, particularly in pediatrics, is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
