An Adaptive Physical Education Teacher is sought for a K-12 educational setting in Westerville, OH, for the upcoming school year. Responsibilities:
- Identify students in need of Adaptive Physical Education services.
- Evaluate motor and physical development abilities as part of an evaluation team.
- Write and monitor IEPs for students qualifying for Adaptive P.E. services.
- Attend IEP meetings to support student needs and program development.
- Collaborate with special education, regular education, and P.E. teachers to create appropriate adaptive programs.
- Provide an instructional program tailored to each student's individual needs.
- Work with individuals and groups on motor skills, coordination, and social-psychological performance.
- Adapt the regular P.E. curriculum to ensure inclusivity for Adaptive P.E. students.
- Offer in-service training to school personnel and community members as required.
- Maintain open communication with fellow educators and administrative staff.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Coordinator of Special Education.
