Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 4-5 years of Mechanical/Diesel hands-on experience with Engines/Transmissions
OR Mechanical Claims experience in Call Center environment
• Individuals should possess basic to intermediate skills using MS Outlook and Excel
• Must have great verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and understand contractual language
• Willing to continue to take continued education courses and keep us any ASE or Automotive Certifications
The Mechanical Claims examiner specializes in the adjudication of mechanical automobile claims. They possess
extensive mechanical knowledge in order to investigate the cause of the failure reported, determine coverage, and
negotiate fair costs for repairs.
Essential Job Functions
• Complete and finalize initial claim reports submitted by service writers/advisors, their representatives, or directly from
contract owners to complete the adjudication process.
• Properly, efficiently, and accurately document loss report by establishing part and labor costs by utilizing approved pricing
standards and/or labor and parts guides
• Properly manage and maintain claim loss reports to ensure files are being settled and closed
• Provide claim information/status to existing open or pending claims and communicate updates to service advisors or
customers and other stakeholders.
• Refer disputed claims to appropriate parties for the next steps
• Dispatch third-party inspections per department/company requirements and evaluate correctly
• Properly document and manage open claims via the Open Diary process
• Use resources such as technical bulletins, recalls and system comments, and other requirements during the adjudication
process
