Bowles Garden is a private botanical garden committed to creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces for our principal. We take pride in our attention to detail and sustainable & organic practices. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Landscape Maintenance/Gardener to join our team.

Position Overview:

The Landscape Maintenance and Gardener is responsible for maintaining the health and aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, and landscapes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of plant care, landscape maintenance, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Garden Maintenance:

  • Cultivate and maintain gardens by planting, watering, weeding, and mulching as required.
  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges to ensure their health and visual appeal.
  • Monitor and control pests and diseases through organic methods when possible.

Seasonal Maintenance:

  • Implement seasonal maintenance tasks such as fall leaf removal and winterization.
  • Prepare gardens and landscapes for spring growth and beauty.

Plant Knowledge and Care:

  • Identify plants, flowers, and trees and understand their specific care requirements.
  • Amend soil as necessary to promote plant health.

Irrigation and Watering:

  • Monitor and adjust irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering levels for different plant types.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor issues with irrigation systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in landscape maintenance and gardening.
  • Strong knowledge of plant care, horticulture, and landscape design principles.
  • Familiarity with gardening tools and equipment. • Attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing outdoor spaces.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, lifting, and repetitive motions.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
