Description:

General Trading is looking for an experienced Hilo / Reach Truck Mechanic. The reach truck mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of reach trucks and other warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on reach trucks, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is safe and compliant with industry standards.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Order and replace faulty parts, ensuring timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Communicate with operators and management regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience in equipment repair, particularly with reach trucks, forklifts, or similar machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., forklift mechanic certification) may be advantageous.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 60 pounds
