Role Overview:

Sodexo is hiring our skilled Grounds Manager to lead landscaping operations for the Grandview C-4 School District in Missouri. This role oversees a team of 5–6 grounds professionals, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance across 9 district properties. Our successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license with clear background , experience managing grounds crews, and be available to work Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with flexibility for earlier shifts for snow management. A Pesticide and Herbicide Application Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Familiarity with chemical application laws and project scheduling is preferred, along with at least three years of team management experience.

• Have a Valid Driver's License
• Experience scheduling and monitoring progress on grounds projects
• Have knowledge of the Grounds and Landscaping Equipment and machines
• Have or obtain within 90 days, the Missouri Herbicide Application Certification
• Strategic knowledge and hands on experience with snow and ice management
• Work with our team, standing, sitting, lifting and doing typical grounds keeping activities hands on

What You Bring:

• 2-3 years of experience managing a grounds crew
• Excellent attention to detail and consistent follow up
• Positive, can-do attitude that buys into the institutional goals
• Valid Driver's License with clear background is required
• Problem solving skills to identify and resolve problems efficiently
• Planning and organizing skills to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently
• Planning skills for resources, and monitoring completion of goals and objectives
• Ability to analyze information and develops solutions while working in team atmosphere
• Leadership to recruit and mentor grounds team members; build and foster an inclusive team culture while modeling a positive attitude
• Experience Implementing team training in the areas of horticulture, irrigation, proper pruning, and turf management
• The ability to work hands-on side by side with the team for typical grounds management including lifting, standing, sitting and working with grounds management equipment for the duration of the typical work shift
