About the Role:

The General Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, high-quality standards, and profitability. This role is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives that align with Lean organizational goals, including cost control, demand forecasting, and continuous improvement through lean manufacturing practices. The General Manager will be responsible for managing financial budgets and P&L statements to optimize resource allocation and maximize return on investment. They will also maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) tracking operational effectiveness and implement corrective actions as needed by driving process efficiency, minimizing waste, and championing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, all while maintaining customer satisfaction and profitability. Ultimately, this position requires strong leadership and people management skills to foster a productive, motivated workforce while maintaining compliance with industry standards such as ISO/TS 16949.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive manufacturing and/or Tier 1 automotive supplier to OEM with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of automotive operations, trends, and compliance.
  • Strong background in Lean methodologies and experience implementing process improvement strategies in a Tier 1 automotive setting.
  • Proven expertise in financial budgeting, cost control, and P&L management.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 standards and lean continuous improvement manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrated ability manage teams and drive business results through effective people development.
  • Develops and applies Lean principles to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and increase process efficiency within the company.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Pull-System and use of Takt Time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering Management.
  • Experience with advanced demand forecasting tools and ERP systems.
  • Hands on leadership in Lean or equivalent process improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in strategic planning and change management.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all manufacturing operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and oversee financial budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to evaluate operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead demand forecasting efforts to align production schedules with market needs and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949 standards and promote lean manufacturing methodologies to enhance process efficiency.
  • Responsible for overseeing a Lean production team, utilizing a pull system to initiate work only in response to actual customer demand, and setting takt time to synchronize workflow and resource allocation to eliminate bottlenecks and minimize waste.
  • Manage and mentor department heads and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Analyze P&L statements regularly to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering to optimize overall operations.
