Job Description

Full Time Nanny (evenings + weekends required) for a DUMBO family starting ASAP with a baby boy born September 2024. Specific childcare duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for providing nurturing care to their son, prioritizing baby's development and handling all child-related tidying and cleaning. The family is looking for an active, experienced and organized nanny with full flexibility to support the family's busy lifestyle. A warm, kind and professional team player would be a great match for this family with parents valuing honesty, cleanliness and reliability. To be successful in this role, you will need to be pro-active, an excellent communicator and ready to commit to a long term commitment. You should be tech savvy, comfortable with dogs (family has hypoallergenic terrier) and overall strong support system for the family. Recent experience with infant milestones (and beyond!) as well as a current drivers license is required. 

Locations: DUMBO, NYC + Upstate NY (Silo Ridge)

Start date: April 2025

Days/times: Family's preferred schedule is 5 days a week, including weekend coverage and consistent mid-week later evening support. Preferred schedule is either Wednesday - Sunday (Monday + Tuesday OFF), or Tuesday, Thursday through Sunday (Monday + Wednesday OFF). Guaranteed 40-45 hours/week, with hours increasing depending on the weekend schedule. Family travels upstate 2-3 times/month (more frequent visits in the summer and fewer in the winter/spring) and overnights/live-in are expected during these weekends. Flexibility is key with this role - with ability and interest to flex as needed for earlier/later days, date nights, weekends, travel and overnight support when needed.

Children: One son (born September 2024) 

Conditions: $35 - $45 per hour* plus unlimited metro card, health care stipend, sick/personal days, vacation and public holidays *dependent on experience and other considerations. The family is open to discussions surrounding the final compensation package for their preferred candidate. 

For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

• Work authorization for the US
• A minimum of 5 years working as a nanny (NYC experience preferred)
• Current drivers license with clean driving record (comfortable transporting child in vehicle) 
• A well-suited demeanor for working infants and toddlers
• Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
• Proven tenure with multiple families including excellent references
• Flexibility in schedule and willingness to travel frequently with the family (weekends upstate + domestic/international travel), as well as adjust daily/weekly schedule as needed
• Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
• Ability to complete all child related duties (including, but not limited to: meal preparation, cleaning up/tidying bedroom and play areas, laundry, researching and planning playdates and activities, etc)
