Job Title: Financial Technical Writer
Location: Remote - Must Sit in CA
Department: Electric Operations – Undergrounding
Contract: 12-Month (with potential for extension)
Pay Rate: 60/hr-70/hr
About the Role
PG&E is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support its Electric Operations Undergrounding team. This role is essential in developing clear, accurate, and compliant documentation to support regulatory filings and internal process alignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in policy and procedure writing, preferably within a financial or utility environment, and will collaborate closely with the Project Controls Analyst (PCA) and Data Analytics (DA) teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, policies, and procedures related to electric operations and undergrounding initiatives.
- Translate complex technical and regulatory information into clear, concise, and accessible content.
- Collaborate with PCA and DA teams to understand tool usage and integrate relevant data insights into documentation.
- Support the preparation of regulatory filings, including the 10-Year Undergrounding General Rate Case (GRC).
- Ensure consistency with PG&E standards, government writing styles, and compliance requirements.
- Manage timelines and deliverables to meet internal and external deadlines.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience writing policies and procedures, ideally in a financial, utility, or regulatory setting.
- Familiarity with financial or data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of technical writing principles and regulatory documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with or for state agencies (e.g., State of California).
- Knowledge of electric utility infrastructure, construction practices, or undergrounding projects.
- Familiarity with PG&E systems or similar project tracking tools.
