About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of conserving native species, their habitats, and functioning ecosystems. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and achieving the organization's short- and long-term goals, supervising a senior staff, and shaping the strategic vision and operational effectiveness. This role involves community engagement, advocacy, and building relationships with government, tribal, and other stakeholders. The Executive Director will also oversee land acquisition, stewardship, and ensure compliance with the highest standards of land trust practices. Applicants must have a proven leadership background in a nonprofit, conservation, or land trust setting, with a strong knowledge of environmental laws, land conservation tools, and real estate transactions. The role requires excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in managing budgets, staff, and programs. A Bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree in a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at working with the Board of Directors, donors, and the community, and will be dedicated to the values and mission of the organization. The position also demands a hands-on approach, including the ability to hike through various terrains and work in both field and office environments.
