Electronic Hardware Engineer

This role will focus on the development of cutting-edge communication hardware, encompassing the full hardware development lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead efforts in circuit design, prototyping, and production, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and high-performance standards.

Focus:

  • Spearhead the design and development of embedded hardware systems, taking concepts from schematic creation to production launch, including layout design, component specification, and hardware testing.
  • Conduct hardware bring-up and prototyping, ensuring system performance aligns with project goals and technical specifications.
  • Lead efforts in ensuring compliance with EMI/EMC regulations, implementing effective mitigation techniques for standards such as FCC, CE, UL, and ATEX.
  • Collaborate with product management and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product lifecycle management, ERP integration, and document control.
  • Utilize Altium or similar software for schematic capture and PCB design, optimizing layouts for manufacturability and performance.
  • Oversee the PCB assembly and fabrication process, ensuring high-quality standards are met from initial production to final assembly.
  • Apply deep technical knowledge of analog, digital, and RF circuit design to optimize system performance and resolve technical challenges.
  • Perform hands-on testing and validation using advanced equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and signal generators.
  • Work with communication interfaces and protocols, including i2c, SPI, USB, DDR, and Flash memory, to ensure robust system integration.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in hardware design, with a focus on satellite communications or related industries.
  • Expertise in embedded system development, from schematic design to production-ready hardware.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge of analog, digital, and RF circuit design and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC mitigation and designing for compliance with regulatory standards (FCC, CE, UL, ATEX).
  • Familiarity with the use of advanced test equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and DMMs.
  • Strong experience with communication interfaces like i2c, SPI, USB, DDR, and Flash.
  • Proven experience managing the full product lifecycle, including ERP and documentation processes.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
