Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, entry-level instructional task lead to join our team and help shape a new micro-credential certificate program focused on extractive engineering disciplines, including environmental, metallurgical, mining, and geological engineering. This exciting, three-year, grant-funded position is a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, collaborative educational project.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver online coursework at an advanced undergraduate and graduate level for a grant-funded certificate program in extractive engineering disciplines (environmental, metallurgical, mining, and/or geological engineering).
Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and the project team to create and convert technical content for the certificate program.
Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop a well-rounded curriculum.
Apply national best practices for online asynchronous delivery, collaborating with instructional designers to ensure regular, substantive student interactions.
Conduct initial quality reviews of the curriculum to ensure it aligns with university standards and federal requirements for online delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., mining, geological, metallurgical, materials, environmental, or a related field).
Strong oral and written communication skills in a technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in a relevant STEM discipline.
Experience as a lecturer, instructor, or graduate teaching assistant in higher education or as a presenter in professional development settings.
Experience teaching STEM courses in a university or industrial setting.
Previous experience delivering online STEM courses.
Familiarity with national best practices for online asynchronous education.
Experience teaching adult, professional, or non-traditional learners.
