THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced driver/foreman to support our moving company’s operations. You will lead a team to conduct moves and installations at a range of locations, mostly in NYC. We conduct residential moves that can include packing, freight deliveries, and white glove moves with installation and staging. We park trucks in Jersey City and in Brooklyn and you could start your day at either location.

SELECT RESPONSIBILITIES AS A DRIVER/FOREMAN

• Review the details of each upcoming job and ask any questions; the best people in this role know how to anticipate


• Work with your team to load your vehicle with any necessary moving equipment or supplies for the day’s jobs


• Work with management or a dispatcher to communicate effectively with clients regarding upcoming deliveries, like an ETA


• Load and unload trucks in strategic fashion


• Wrap furniture and belongings adequately and with care


• Ensure the success of every job, calling in to report any issues or questions about team conduct, furniture conditions and more


• If there are incidents or damages OF ANY KIND to the vehicle, client items, the customer, the locations, the team or the supplies, it must be reported IMMEDIATELY post-occurrence


• Inspect your work vehicle, supplies and equipment every morning before the start of the workday and complete the daily checklist


• Take responsibility for the equipment and supplies on vehicles and report any missing items


• After your shift, secure fuel cards and keys in the lock box at the lot


• Wear clean company uniform once supplied to you, every day


• Clean up rubbish from inside of trucks and vans and dispose of trash in a dumpster at the end of each workday

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Experience driving box trucks up to 26 feet-- THIS IS REQUIRED


• Ability to get to Jersey City or Brooklyn at 7am


• Proficient with furniture dis/assembly and installation, using appropriate tools


• Team player who is dependable and a leader who leads by example


• Ability to lift or move heavy objects


• At least two years of experience in a comparable role -- MUST HAVE MOVING EXPERIENCE

DETAILS AND COMPENSATION

• $20.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience, plus overtime


• You will be paid weekly on Fridays


• 401K offered immediately upon employment
