We are looking for a meticulous and organized Document Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, reviewing, and auditing mortgage documents to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong administrative and documentation skills to contribute to a dynamic financial services environment.

Responsibilities:
• Review and verify mortgage loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
• Conduct detailed audits of mortgage files to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Organize and prepare document packages for loan underwriting, processing, and approval.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage regulatory standards and ensure all documentation aligns with these requirements.
• Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other internal teams to address any discrepancies or missing information.
• Upload and manage documents in the company’s electronic document management system.
• Maintain both electronic and physical records of mortgage files to facilitate easy retrieval and audit readiness.
• Monitor and ensure proper handling of sensitive information in compliance with confidentiality standards.
• Assist in streamlining document control processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.• At least 2 years of experience in mortgage document control, loan processing, or a similar administrative role within the mortgage or banking industry.
• Proficiency in using loan origination software and document management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with mortgage industry regulations and guidelines is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of document scanning and compilation processes is a plus.
