A community-based social welfare organization in New York is currently seeking an experienced compliance leader to join their team as their new Director of Housing Compliance. In this role, the Director will be responsible for working in conjunction with the real estate department to ensure properties adhere to requirements for funding received.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the main contact for all auditor requests and physical inspections requested by lenders, investors, and government partners.
• Conduct second reviews and lead reporting to all funders, ensuring adherence to the required reports, processes, and deadlines.
• Submit all required documents and income certifications during the initial lease-up of new developments.
• Prepare the team for new projects to be added to the portfolio
• Manage day to day operations of the department and oversight of a team of approximately 8 people
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Relevant Quadel Certifications.
• Experience in managing a Housing Compliance Department with multiple layers of funding requirements such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) - Section 42, HOME Final Rule, Section 811 Program, HTF, and Affordable Housing Program, including advanced knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements.
• Progressive leadership experience or strong leadership ability
• Passionate about supportive housing
