The Industrial Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in an industrial or manufacturing environment. This role requires the use of industrial cleaning equipment and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The custodian supports daily operations by ensuring work areas, restrooms, break rooms, and other facility areas are clean, well-stocked, and hazard-free.
Clean and sanitize production floors, equipment, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, sweepers, and pressure washers.
Dispose of waste and recyclables properly, following facility protocols and environmental regulations.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning materials.
Handle hazardous materials safely and according to OSHA standards.
Identify and report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions.
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist with setup or breakdown for company events or facility projects.
Perform deep cleaning or special projects as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior custodial or janitorial experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to operate heavy-duty cleaning machines and tools.
Basic understanding of chemical handling and safety data sheets (SDS).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physically able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and work in various environmental conditions.
Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, or overtime if required.
