Job Description

SUMMARY:

Represents the "voice of the customer" for the specific Experience and applicable Agile Release Train (ART); collaborates with the Experience Owner (EO) to manage and prioritize Experience-specific product development; aligns, manages, and prioritizes assigned backlog with EO; and supports Product Owners (PO) and development teams daily to deliver quality product on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages Product Development
    • Develops and maintains comprehensive understanding of the business and assigned areas as a subject matter expert
    • Educates POs and development teams on business objectives from the stakeholder and persona perspectives
    • Drives continued business alignment with EO and relevant leadership via cadenced and ad hoc communications
    • Focuses on product quality to meet expectations and KPIs
    • Works with EOs and business on epic and feature decomposition
    • Collaborates with Business SMEs and POs on feature development and as-needed user story development
    • Creates and leads feature and acceptance criteria development that meets agreed-upon definition of done criteria
    • Aligns decomposition with business requirements and objectives
    • Clarifies customer intent to optimize development and delivery
  • Backlog Management and Prioritization
    • Assesses business value and prioritizes features to focus on those with maximum value that align with business strategy
    • Partners with EO and PO to define and elaborate PI objectives
    • Aligns work execution with business priorities while maintaining feature and user story conceptual and technical integrity
    • Ensures all requests follow the defined process, are prioritized, well communicated, and delivered.
    • Partners with EO, ART, and business to identify and track risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs that may affect program backlog
    • Seeks EO advice and approval on any given PI work adjustments
  • Daily Support
    • Supervises, trains, mentors, and coaches assigned direct reports
    • Partners with and guides PO on features and related user stories
    • Leads, as needed, and participates in Agile planning and ceremonies
    • Partners with EO, RTE, PO, and others on features and enablers
    • Supports the ART Experience during PI Planning
    • Partners with PM on business scope and requirements to provide end-to-end collaboration and as-needed Business Assessment Team support
    • Responsible for final decisions on product functionality
    • Partners with RTE to socialize and model Agile principles and practices
    • Participates in all relevant Agile planning and ceremonies

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 or more years related work experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis or Management Consulting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Experience interfacing with technology teams in an Agile environment
  • Strong relationship management skills, including managing the expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional executive presence in written and verbal communications. Poise in front of large, executive audiences.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to manage with vision and purpose, and drive to a cohesive, collaborative result
  • Strong organizational skills necessary to accomplish many tasks within a specified timeframe
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across a matrixed organization and develop trusting working partnerships with internal and external partners.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and willing to adapt to tactical needs in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Accomplished decision-maker who can quickly make and execute well-supported prioritization decisions
Preferred:
  • Healthcare background strongly preferred
  • Proficient in project management tools and methodology
  • POPM - SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification
  • Experience with Jira software for creating and managing epics and features

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 113,200 - 188,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
