Creative Development Coordinator

Requirements

The Creative Development Coordinator supports faculty trade book and public platform development by contributing to thematic research, creative content ideation, and strategic planning for outreach initiatives. The role combines creative and organizational skills to enhance the faculty member's capacity to produce innovative public-facing work while supporting key creative projects. This position is 10 hours per week. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct thematic research for trade book development.
  • Identify opportunities to translate academic work for public audiences.
  • Generate ideas for essays, articles, and media pieces.
  • Build and maintain systematic story bank of medical narratives.
  • Support coordination of medical humanities reading group.
  • Track project deadlines and creative initiatives.




Work Interactions
This position reports to a faculty member and works as part of a small, dynamic team. The role contributes to Georgetown University's academic and public engagement initiatives while maintaining organized documentation systems and strict confidentiality of creative work. The position offers flexible scheduling within standard business hours.



Requirements and Qualifications

  • Current senior undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in literature creative writing, publishing, medical humanities, and public scholarship
  • Strong analytical pattern recognition, analytical, and systematic thinking skills
  • Professional ethics and understanding of intellectual property
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in conducting independent research and meeting deadlines




Preferred Requirements and Qualifications

  • Prior experience in creative writing, editing, or publishing
  • Background in medical humanities, cultural studies, or literary analysis
  • Experience with content development or brainstorming for public platforms
  • Familiarity with trade publishing processes or literary agency operations
  • Interest in media trends and audience engagement

Pay Range:


The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$19.20 - $28.70


Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
