Construction Accountant

General Accountant Construction Industry El Cajon, CA | Full-Time | Onsite

Are you an independent, hands-on accounting professional looking to join a growing construction company? LHH is partnering with a respected regional contractor to find a General Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

About the Company: This organization specializes in construction projects across the San Diego region. With a small office team and most employees in the field, you'll play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable, including progress billing and coordination with subcontractors across multiple projects
• Oversee accounts receivable, including lien releases, waivers, and collections
• Handle insurance documentation and compliance
• Process payroll and certified payroll for approximately 45 employees using Paychex; verify timesheets and coordinate approvals with the Owner
• Support general accounting functions as needed
• Collaborate closely with the Owner and office administrator
• Utilize Procore and Textura

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in construction industry accounting is required
• Ability to work independently, ask questions, and solve problems with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with Sage accounting software (any version) and basic Excel skills; advanced skills are a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Schedule & Compensation:

• Standard hours: 6:00am2:30pm (flexible if needed)
