About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a community bank client in the Chicago, IL area. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and innovative individual with a proven track record in overseeing all accounting functions and providing successful growth strategies for banks. The CFO will be responsible for directing all financial activities, including reporting, planning, supervision, and investments, and will work closely with the Executive Team in forecasting, budgeting, and preparing for the next level. Additionally, the role involves preparing financial statements, business activity reports, and annual budgets, as well as supervising employees in financial reporting, accounting, and budgeting duties. Candidates for the CFO position should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting (Master’s degree preferred), with a CPA designation also preferred. A minimum of seven years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Proficiency in PC software such as Excel, Word, and Access is a must, along with excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. The CFO will also be expected to maintain current knowledge of accounting standards, conduct or coordinate audits, and develop internal control policies and procedures for financial activities. The role demands a leader who can influence their own development and is passionate about their work, with the ability to identify opportunities for development and improvement in financial operations.
