Boiler Burner Specialist / Heavy Commercial / Light Industrial

Detroit Boiler Company is a family-owned business founded in 1977. DBC is seeking an experienced Boiler/Burner Service Technician.

Qualifications

· 10 years direct, hands on experience and good working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, burners, associated controls and electrical circuits, combustion, and associated piping systems.

· Must have a background of working on commercial boiler/industrial boiler/burner systems, controls & instrumentation, preferably with various manufacturer’s equipment (Lochinvar, Raypak, Johnston, Cleaver Brooks, Power flame, York, etc.

· Ability to diagnose and repair commercial and industrial boilers.

· Use various test equipment.

· Must have a background of working on industrial boiler/burner systems, controls & instrumentation, preferably with various manufacturers’ equipment (Superior, Johnston, Cleaver Brooks, Nebraska, Powerflame, Todd, York Shipley, Limpsfield, etc.).

· Strong understanding of boiler design, function & operation.

· Knowledge surrounding all boiler electrical components/requirements

Job Description

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Boiler Service Technician. As a service technician you will be dispatched to various locations, within the Detroit Metropolitan Area, to inspect equipment, identify problems and perform necessary repairs in an accurate and efficient manner. In addition, you will perform factory “start-up” services, CSD-1 and related inspections and execute scheduled equipment maintenance duties. When required, you will be expected to install new equipment and ensure it is operating within manufacturer specifications. We provide services for commercial and industrial customers so you must understand commercial equipment and codes. Our ideal candidate has ten years of professional Boiler service experience and be able to work independently, without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch to commercial and industrial locations for maintenance, repair and installation services.

• Troubleshoot, pinpoint and diagnose equipment and heating system malfunctions.

• Prepare and provide detailed recommendations pertaining to equipment repair or replacement.

• Execute precise and effective equipment repair(s) when required.

• Install new boiler heating and hot water equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance task as scheduled.

• Conduct equipment inspections, start-ups and testing to ensure proper operation

• Perform CSD-1 inspections and combustion analysis.

• Maintain accurate records including customer information, on-sight equipment, work performed, timesheet and materials used.

• Collaborate with team members to complete projects thoroughly and efficiently.

• Cultivate and develop long term customer relationships that ensure recurring business.

• Conduct daily assignments with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism
