Oakwood Laboratories is looking to add to their Formulation Research and Development Team! This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in advancing their career at a technology-based pharmaceutical company. You will focus on development of sustained release microsphere projects in various stages of development. You will support projects through pre-formulation laboratory experiments and studies, product formulation testing, and process scale up ranging from laboratory to pilot scale. This role will require you to work as part of small multi-disciplinary technical teams on sustained release injectable drug development projects and you will have direct input on solving complex problems and contributing to project success. Essential job functions include: Formulate batches in a laboratory and pilot plant setting, using complex manufacturing processes to design and improve microsphere products Develop and optimize new innovative processes and technologies for use in formulation development and manufacturing Present analyses and recommendations in product development team meetings Collaborate with team members from multiple departments within the company and with external clients to achieve project and company goals Work in an FDA-regulated environment and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Attributes required include: Bachelor of Science, Masters, or PhD Degree in Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or closely related science field with chemistry and mathematics in coursework Basic lab skill obtained from college science labs, internships, or through one year of industry experience Desire to learn and grow within a team-oriented environment Good documentation and written and oral communication skills Time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently to meet company deadlines About Oakwood Oakwood Laboratories is a privately owned specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the design, development and commercial manufacture of sterile injectable sustained release pharmaceuticals.
