Looking for a family law attorney with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are a small woman-owned law firm located in Maple Grove, Minnesota, that cares deeply about families going through divorce, custody and parenting time negotiations, estate planning, and probate. We are looking for a positive, growth-minded individual who wants to move their law practice into the 21st century. You should know enough about the practice of law, to effectively earn the trust of new clients, provide competent and caring legal advice to clients, and be up to the challenge of being an excellent advocate when working with opposing counsels and the court. This position is best for someone with some legal practice under their belt so you can hit the ground running. Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
• Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently
• Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
• Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients

Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
• Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
• Successful completion of the bar exam
• Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
• Licensed attorney in good standing in Minnesota
• 1-3 years of experience in family law
