The Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences ( CONHS ), Department of Health Sciences, invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science. This nine (9) month, full-time tenure track position will support the Undergraduate Exercise Science and Master of Science in Applied Exercise Science degree programs. The Master of Science in Applied Exercise Science program is recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. The position may include the possibility of summer semester teaching opportunities. The successful candidate will teach exercise science courses along with other courses assigned by the Department Chair of Health Sciences in collaboration with the Dean.

• Support the mission of Ashland University and the CONHS .
• Support Ashland University's philosophy of Accent on the Individual.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of exercise science and research in a
  variety of learning modalities.
• Contribute to course and curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, including
  the development of a new cardiopulmonary rehabilitation track within the Master's degree.
• Advise Exercise Science students.
• Advise prospective students and support admissions events.
• Assist the Exercise Science Program Director.
• Develop working professional relationships with local, state, and national agencies and
  organizations to enhance service learning and other educational opportunities.
• Ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in diverse academic programs.
• Commitment to the assessment of learning outcomes.
• Serve on department, college and university committees.
• Serve as the Internship Coordinator for the Exercise Science programs.
• Develop and maintain a scholarly program of research that includes review of literature and
  implementation of research, writing, editing, and presenting.
• Commitment to continued professional development.
• Assist with the development of program self-study reports necessary to pursue and maintain
  discipline specific accreditation.

Required Qualifications:

• Earned doctoral degree or near completion in Exercise Physiology or other closely related field
• National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification
• Teaching experience in the area of exercise physiology
• Strength and conditioning field
