The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Kinesiology and Athletic Training seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Exercise Science position, starting in August 2025. We are seeking professionals committed to the academic and professional preparation of Kinesiology majors, many of whom will pursue advanced degrees in health-related fields.
Primary responsibilities include teaching exercise science courses such as 'Exercise Physiology', 'Fitness Assessment', 'Physical Activity & Nutrition', and 'Sports Nutrition' at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; conducting research and engaging in scholarly activities; supervising undergraduate and graduate research projects; and participating in professional service. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Exercise Science or a closely related field (ABD will be considered); demonstrated ability to teach exercise science classes; demonstrated record of effective teaching; and demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish manuscripts required.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach sports nutrition courses; prior university-level teaching experience; and strong background in research methodology and statistics preferred.
