Job Description

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Operating Systems Maintenance (OSM) Product Owner (PO) to support the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms.
• Collaborate with Program Management to set priorities for new capabilities and defects.
• Provide guidance to the OSM team for each Program Increment (PI) and Sprint.
• Support the development of acceptance criteria for OSM tasks and stories and verify work performed by the OSM team.
• Work with the Cyber team to maintain a suitable cyber posture for deployed operating system products.
• Conduct technical briefings, demonstrations, and advisement to leadership on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
• Minimum of 7 years of combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed.
• Strong understanding of operating systems concepts, including Windows and RHEL update/patching requirements, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning/risk assessment, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert/Management (IAVA/IAVM) processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work directly with Agile software developers to meet deadlines and program objectives.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
• Experience in JIRA/Confluence.
• Security+ and Linux experience.
• Possessing an Agilist Certification is a plus.
• Independent critical thinking, the ability to “move out” and champion ideas, and a team-oriented attitude.
