Job DescriptionSt. Cloud State University is seeking applications for potential adjunct instructors who qualify to teach in the College of Health and Wellness Professions-Department of Kinesiology, Community Health, and Gerontology.The department requests applications for part-time adjunct instructors for selected undergraduate and graduate courses in the Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology programsCourses may include, but are not limited to, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Electrocardiography, Cardiovascular and Muscular Physiology, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Clinical Rehabilitation, as well as oversite of student practicum and internship experiences.This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments? access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).Compensation is per credit, the current credit rate is a minimum of $1819 per credit.Minimum QualificationsMasters in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or closely related professional fieldDemonstrate ability to teach in the area of Exercise Science and/or Clinical Exercise ScienceExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Commitment to university engagement, mentoring, and student successEvidence demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgroundsPreferred QualificationTerminal degree, (i.e., Ph.D., Ed.D., ABD candidates excepted) in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology or other closely related field, or a master?s degree in a related discipline as evidence by specialized training and expertise in physical activity and exercise, human movement, and/or sportPrevious experience teaching at a university or college for a minimum of 1-yearAvailability weekdays, evenings, and onlineDemonstrate use of technology in teaching courses blended/hybrid, asynchronous, or synchronousRecognized certifications in the Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Kinesiology professional field(s)Required Documents (Upload at Time of Application) Resume/CVCover LetterUnofficial TranscriptsThree (3) Professional ReferencesWork Shift (Hours / Days of work)VariesAboutThe successful candidate will share St. Cloud State?s commitment to our mission, and in particular, the value we place in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as outlined in SCSU?sIt?s Timestrategic framework.
