Job Description

A full-semester opportunity is available for a licensed Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. This contract position offers the chance to work in a K-12 school setting, delivering specialized physical education instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

Location: Tehachapi, CA
Duration: Full school year, starting August 25, 2025, and concluding June 11, 2026
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break
Weekly Hours: 40 hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement adaptive physical education curriculum for students with a range of physical and cognitive abilities
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to create inclusive, individualized programming
• Assess student progress and adjust activities to promote physical fitness, coordination, and social interaction
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and growth

Qualifications:

• Valid California teaching credential in Adaptive Physical Education
• Experience working with PK-12 students with diverse physical and learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to design creative and engaging physical education activities
