Job Description

An Adaptive Physical Education Teacher is needed for a contract position in Elk Grove, CA, serving middle school students. This role is designed for an educator who is passionate about creating inclusive physical education programs tailored to the needs of students aged 8-10 with varying abilities.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential in Adaptive Physical Education
• Experience working with children with special needs, particularly in a school setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Knowledge of adaptive sports and teaching strategies

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate students' physical abilities and needs to develop appropriate adaptive physical education programs.
• Provide monthly instructional sessions (120 minutes each) for three eligible students.
• Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to each student's education.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt curricula as needed.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress and strategies for success.
