Position Overview:

The Account Executive will be responsible for driving new sales, managing existing relationships, and meeting revenue targets for their dedicated market. The Executive will partner closely with local business leaders and focus on sales for our major brands to increase market penetration. The Executive must understand the sales process, have superb interpersonal skills, and develop a thorough knowledge of The Cannabist Company products and the cannabis space specific to our markets. Imperative to the success of this role is working as a collaborative member of the team, demonstrating exceptional relationship building skills, as well as the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment where systems and processes are continuously evolving.

This is a remote position but must be located within the state of NJ. We will also consider those in border states where The Cannabist does business as long as they are commutable to NJ (DE, NY & PA).

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Winning and maintaining general accounts
  • \n
  • Manage strategic sales efforts throughout market to achieve sales goals.
  • \n
  • Develop pipeline to identify potential new customers.
  • \n
  • Manage key accounts, including Multi-State Operator (MSO) accounts.
  • \n
  • Forecasting sales and revenue for their market/territory.
  • \n
  • Negotiating deals and closing sales.
  • \n
  • Executes Annual Business Plans (ABPs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for designated accounts that you are assigned.
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers to ensure future sales both in-person and virtually.
  • \n
  • Partner with business leaders and marketing teams to develop strategies to support sales goals.
  • \n
  • Facilitate processes for local B2B sales-related tasks.
  • \n
  • Conduct monthly Pricing Analysis reports.
  • \n
  • Submit sales orders accurately and on-time for approval and to the appropriate parties for fulfillment.
  • \n
  • Participate in and attend industry events, including trade shows, conferences, and in-store events to interact with potential and existing customers.
  • \n
  • Execute and record, in CRM, Designated Activities assigned by Wholesale Leadership.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):

\n

• All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred
• 3+ years sales experience. Experience in cannabis or wholesale flower preferred.
• Prior experience with sales deals and negotiations.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Highly motivated with proven experience meeting and exceeding goals.
• Experience with distributor management and contract/vendor negotiation.
• Knowledge of marketing strategies and CRM (customer relationship management).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a highly organized manner with limited direction while supporting a large market/territory with multiple key accounts.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
• Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.

Location: This position can be located anywhere in the state of NJ

Pay: $55K-65K Base + quarterly commission bonuses + benefits. Total cash compensation target is $75K - $90K

Additional Abilities Required:

\n

This job operates in both an office and field setting, requiring mobility between locations and the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The ability to lift or move up to 5 pounds, bend, reach, and perform manual tasks may also be required.
